The Browse search allows you to search the catalog in alphabetical or numerical order, like a dictionary. Your search, if successful, will result in an alphabetical/numerical list. You can then browse forward or backwards through that particular list or index.
When to use Browse
- You know the exact title or the beginning of the title
- You know at least the author's last name
- You know an exact subject heading and want to find works on that topic
- You know the call number of a work and want to find other works on that topic
- You know the publication date of an item etc
Search examples
- Dickens,
- dickens c,
- dickens ch,
- dickens charles
The more characters you type the more you limit the search result. Lowercase letters will find matches of capitalized words also
